music group picture puzzle

Heavy.com and Virgin Records co-sponsored a contest in 2005 to promote a new music service. Musicquiz was a picture filled with 74 clues to musical groups. The object was to name the bands, and win prizes. The contest is long-gone, but the puzzle is still there. Can you name all 74? They span the range from oldies to fairly recent ones.
How to play: Drag the magnifying glass around for a close-up view of the picture. Also, I tended to get a small screen version of the game when it first opened. There’s a tab at the top left of the screen to make the puzzle full-screen.
A few things:
- Since this is a contest, there is no official list of the groups, but go to my hints page to find links to some comprehesive lists of answers.
- Because this is an older game, there’s no way to keep track of right answers on-screen. You have to list them on your own.
- Also, when you open up the heavy.com video, you’ll be “treated” to an ad. But you can skip it by clicking on the bottom right of the pop-up screen.
I’m having fun trying to figure out all 74.
