quick change artists video

Posted by debbie on 7th February 2007

America's Got Talent quick change artistsAmerica’s Got Talent was a show that aired in the summer of 2006. It was campy, with David Hasselhoff and Brandy adding to the fun. The first time I saw these two, my jaw dropped. Of course, I know that it can be done, and I even know some of the tricks that they used. But it is still a pretty impressive show… And watch Brandy trying to keep a striaght face, while you can tell she’s floored.

plasma pong - a classic arcade game goes fluid

Posted by debbie on 30th January 2007

Image of Plasma Pong arcade gamePlasma Pong updates the classic game and makes it both cool to play and groovy to watch. Best of all, it’s free to download. At the core, Plasma Pong is the same old game of pong. You use your mouse to control the paddle, and try to get the ball past your opponent. Simple, right?

Well, Steve Taylor has added a very cool feature that adds eye candy to the game: fluid dynamics. In the game, using the right, left and middle buttons on your mouse, you can inject plasma fluid into the environment, create a vacuum from your paddle, and blast shockwaves into the playing area. All these abilities have fluid-based kinetic effects on the ball, making Plasma Pong a fast-paced and exciting game. Adding to the atmosphere is a soundtrack that ratchets up the tenson.

If you get tired of manipulating the paddle, there’s also a cool sandbox area. Here, you can play around with fluid effects and create some great masterpieces. However, you can’t save the pictures you make, unless you take a screenshot of them.

Overall, this is an update that takes an old game and makes it something else entirely, and it makes for a fun gaming experience.

virtual pet for your web or myspace

Posted by debbie on 28th November 2006

Image of Bunnylabs virtual petsThere are lots of virtual pets online, but these from Bunnyherolabs are the cutest I’ve seen. They’re also simple and interactive.

You can either put them directly on your website or myspace page, or you can visit them online.  The designers have come up with lots of different pets, from bats, wolves, penguins, pigs and tigers, to run-of-the-mill puppies and kittens.

They’re customizable (you can change the color of the animal). They’re interactive: moving your mouse around and clicking on the pet makes it move and make noise. You can also click on the “more” button, which contains toys and food for your pet.

Visit the my-casual-games virtual pet on my about page. Or, adopt your own pet at bunnyherolabs.com.

the jcb song by nizlopi

Posted by debbie on 13th November 2006

jcb song video imageThe JCB Song by Nizlopi combines a sweet song about a small boy and his dad, with a gentle, whimsical cartoon. The song and visuals go together so perfectly that you’ll be smiling, even though the subject matter is a little sad. I love the simplicity of the lyrics, and the joy in the final chorus. Check out this wonderful video and song that both won awards in England.

who’s line is it anyway with richard simmons

Posted by debbie on 10th November 2006

whos line is it anyway imageOne of the most hilarious of the Who’s Line skits. Richard Simmons puts the audience, Drew Carey, and the other players into hysterics. I always end up crying with laughter when I watch this.

 Warning: not really kid-safe.
