A game doesn’t have to be complicated to be addicting. Throw Paper is a case in point. The object is simple - get the paper in the wastebasket. There’s only one problem. There’s a fan in front of you that can blow your paper off course. Using the direction and speed indicator, try to get the paper in the basket. The counter adds up your string of successes, but if you miss, the counter re-starts at zero. It’s harder than it looks, and you’ll be spending more time than is good for you trying to beat your best score. Trust me.

PictoPuzzle PictoPuzzle combines funny pictures and clever wordplay into a great family game.
The clues are a series of clever picture clues. Double-clicking on the smaller picture brings up a larger image with a series of “fill in hte blank” squares. Look at the picture, then fill in your answer. If the letter is correct, it will be black. If it is not, it will be red. If you’re really stuck, there are 2 clues, then the answer.
And you might need the clues, and even the answer, because these pictures are plays on words. For example, one clue is a picture of men in striped jumpsuits sleeping in tents. The solution is the word “contents.” Or the picture is one of bears in a grocery store. The answer is “bear market.”
The only disappointing thing about this puzzle is that there’s no “yay” moment of completion. When you fill in the last clue, there’s nothing - no congrats or play again screen. But that doesn’t really take away from the great gameplay.
And it’s a great game to play with kids, too. My son and I solve a puzzle a day, and it’s really helping him with his vocabulary, not to mention his sense of fun!

I have a confession to make. I hate Sudoku. Yes, I know, that’s a bad thing to say in this sudoku-crazed world. But I just can’t seem to “get” it. Either that or I don’t have the patience. Then why am I including a sudoku game in my review. Because this Jigsaw Sudoku game is something I can enjoy.
What’s the secret? Well, first of all, there are only 6 tiles, instead of 9. Second is the “hint” button on the bottom of the screen. Press that at any time, and the game will tell you if you have placed any tiles wrong and how many. You can either try to figure it out, or you can click on the “fix” button. That button takes away all the wrong tiles while leaving the right ones still in place. A cheat, yes, but one I appreciate. I finally finished a game of Sudoku!

Making Fiends is an online animated cartoon series from Amy Winfrey. Amy does all the animation, music and background sounds. It’s a funny story of Vendetta, a mean cruel girl who makes life a living heck for everyone in her town. She makes fiends that terrorize her teacher and fellow students. Charlotte is the new girl in town. She just wants to make friends with everyone - especially Vendetta. How she attempts to befriend Vendetta, and how she manages to escape Vendetta’s evil plots, is the running joke of the series.
As of now, there are 2 seasons worth of the cartoon, with 10 episodes a season. Each episode is about 5 minutes long. Also, during Halloween and Christmas there are bonus games to play.

Submachine 2 - The Lighthouse is twice as long and difficult as Submachine 1. The concept is the same - you’re trying to find the way out of the strange place that you’re trapped in. You click to solve puzzles and to add to and use things from your inventory. The game does have some tricky parts, but it is very fun.If you need help, go to the hints page for a link to a walkthrough.

Blue Chamber is the latest of the “escape the room” puzzles by Toshimitsu Takagi of Japan. The object is simple. You wake up in a room that you must escape from. The means for escape are in the room, you just have the click around the room to gather what you need. It’s simple, but very addicting. You may want to try Crimson, Viridian, and White Rooms first, since this is a little harder than those. If you need help, go to the hints page for a link to a walkthrough.
